We'd have been in a better position if I could get both, but this will have to do for now. He didn't read it before we left.

Try to find a way to get it. Otherwise-- I think this ought to stay between the two of us. If we know a way to potentially save someone, we'll need to wait and bring that up at the right time.

He seems like the type who would go along with it, if prompted, but it loses any benefit for us if he can save them on his own.

Mm. Yeah, I see that. Trying to get it from him might be tricky, though—it's because he's an idiot that it's hard to gauge how he might prioritize.

And trying too hard would just let him know that what he has could be important.

There's "lit", which means "cool"—not the temperature kind, that is—or, alternatively to get high. You know what high means, right?

I'm aware of what a high is, yes, though I never dealt with opium or anything like that myself.

If you ever hear someone [who, half the game is ye olde] say that they "stan" someone, that means they'd defend them. Not in a physical manner, but more like... well, in our context, one example would be, "There's no way they could've committed murder!" Someone who says would be stanning the other person.
