at least it's constantly getting cleaned, even if it then keeps getting dirty, so presumably it's not horrible.]

[ hmm. there are definitely a lot of dirty dishes, but that's only the most obvious thing. He can already tell this floor needs a mopping, for starters. ]

Fine. I'll wash the dishes, you clean the floor. It's filthy. [ a beat. ] Where are the aprons?

[ gotta stay CLEAN!! ]

[ thanks Belph. While he does that, Hikage goes to find them - and, apparently, he does, because Belph will find one being thrown at his head. It says "Kiss the Cook" on it. So does the one Hikage's tying on, although he doesn't seem to really be paying attention. ]

[he glances at it and laughs, before looking back to hikage.]

Aw, does that mean you considered doing my chores for me?

[ now he's trying to tie his hair back with his scrunchie, but it's not working that well because it's mostly long in the front. rip. ]

No. [ FLAT REFUSAL... he probably would though. ] You did all right on your own in the castle, didn't you?

I'm surprised you picked this task in the first place.

I'm done with the others and I thought of you for this one.

[ it still makes him happy to be thought of; it's only been a week or two, from his point of view, so it's all fresh, having friends, having someone know him and seek him out anyway. That's how he's enduring all of this. ]
