From what I gathered, it seems to be because Dragon is really committed to all of this being done properly? If she wins, the reason she still has to die is because she wants balance. Dragon can't exist without Tiger, etc. But Tiger doesn't care about that. And Dragon is aware of it, so she'd accept the death, even if it's not the specific one she would prefer.
