Considering everything that's just happened, I thought I should speed up my efforts.

Akechi's a Historian, though you might know that by now. When I told you he might have a role... well, back then I knew he had one for sure, but I didn't know what exactly at the time.
Which, by the way, means he knows mine—as do the rest of the Historians, since I know he told them. You could say that we've decided to collaborate for the sake of gathering info.
That explains a bit about how he's lived this long.
[he's just gonna fuckin say it.]
But you haven't identified the others yet, I take it-- do you mean to collaborate with them, as well? Or does it depend on what that role of theirs happen to be?
... I know two of the other Historians' identities, and the general names of every other role. The Alchemist, the Shield, and two Editors. I have my suspicions as to the identity of one of those, but... I can't tell you anything about it yet. Sorry.
In any case, the Crafters reward me with info every time I confirm a role. Along those lines, though, it's important that I don't ask questions someone already knows the answer to.
In that case... I'll see what I can do for you. Though if you're working with them-- I'm sure you already know, but I would prefer you to avoid giving them information on me. You may be collaborating for now, but should that end, we'll be better off if they know less about both of us.
[it isn't a bad plan, but he doesn't trust them any more than he trusts anyone else. they may well just be using his partner for what he can provide.]
It seemed fair to confirm, since you're being so forthcoming. I haven't found one that seems to precisely go along with your ability, though--the closest I've come is wondering if we both might be animals.
[the white rabbit had a thing for time, after all. but look he had no prior fairy tale knowledge, the research is ongoing. :/]
Yeah, about that—I actually talked to him about that way back in the first week? Something about [his voice drops in an imitation of sousei] "petty grudges have no place here", he'd rather see you in prison than dead, his duty is protect civilians and that includes me, etc., etc.
He actually gave me the name of the other Historian I know about, as an exchange for what he knew about me thanks to Akechi.
[yeah, he's very unsure about all of this, but. he figures shirasu's liable to shank regardless.]
Thanks. Akechi's a little too unstable to make for a good ally, after all.
Though if you ever feel like taking a risk and need the assistance, he's apparently eager to do his job as Historian and help people with their objectives.
Well, I took the advice of flattering it first [and he wanted to DIE] and threw in a bunch of conditions in my wish, so yeah. Doesn't hurt to be careful.
[shirasu hasn't been anywhere to be seen for a good while after their first conversation, actually. sneaky ninja shit? possibly. but he slips back in later that night, settling in before-]
I suppose that was at least worth the time. With a little luck, we might find out something interesting this week.
Apparently someone's objective is to get others to break the rules, and they intend to break into our hosts' quarters. They'll supposedly get a lighter punishment for it-- so I'm hoping they're smart enough to see what they can find while they're at it.
If they do manage it, I should be able to listen in on at least two of them to find out if they made anything of that. That's the more useful bit, really...
[he's been needing confirmation on who he can get away with spying on. two down, at least.]
I'll need to see if the same goes for the people you need to know about.
They didn't go into the details on that while I was there. I only know who's claiming to have that objective, who's involved, and that they intend to do it this week.
[good luck indeed... he's not sure he believes in them, but maybe they'll all get lucky (himself included.)]
I'll let you know if I can get anything out of them afterward.
In the meantime, I'll work on others-- if you arrange any meetings you don't mind being overheard, I might be able to do a little research, there. It'll help to know who else I could listen in on safely enough.
[at least he's offering instead of just straight up spying on belph?]
no subject
What is it?
[belph's not wasting time; he won't either.]
no subject
If you can, keep an eye on Cardia, Ion—the passive-aggressive one—and Sanji. They might have roles.
[also, ion might try and kill everyone?? but, you know, that's a separate matter.]
no subject
[neither are people he knows well, but perhaps he can use other means to watch them.]
no subject
[belph's quiet for a moment, and it seems as if he's debating with himself, before—]
It's suspicious, considering a lot of what he said is info I've obtained myself.
no subject
[hm. he's had suspicions, with the things belph has seemed to have an idea about, but...]
Does that make you one of them as well?
[just for confirmation's sake.]
no subject
[and there he has it.]
no subject
[speaking of that, though.]
If you're both willing and able to say more, you know it won't leave this room.

Your guess about me before was correct, though.
no subject
[though there is... something he should tell shirasu...
before that, though, he smiles wryly.]
Thanks. I do like being right.

[the white rabbit had a thing for time, after all. but look he had no prior fairy tale knowledge, the research is ongoing. :/]

By the way, Sousei is a Historian, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to kill him. He's my most reliable contact at the moment.
[since akechi is... akechi.]
no subject
[THANKS! HE HATES IT.]
And he's willing to work with you, despite our partnership?
no subject
Yeah, about that—I actually talked to him about that way back in the first week? Something about [his voice drops in an imitation of sousei] "petty grudges have no place here", he'd rather see you in prison than dead, his duty is protect civilians and that includes me, etc., etc.

no subject
[well, if people haven't learned their lesson about putting fuuma in prisons he supposes he won't stop them--
but he would be surprised if sousei really considers it just a 'petty grudge', after everything.]
...then good luck with him, I suppose. For all that he claims grudges have no place, he certainly prefers to avoid dealing with me.
[and shirasu can't say he minds it.]
no subject
I'll just be happy if the two of you avoid stabbing each other.
no subject
As long as you two are working together, I won't eliminate one of your contacts.
[bets are off after that.
bets may end up being off anyway, we'll see.]
no subject
Thanks. Akechi's a little too unstable to make for a good ally, after all.
Though if you ever feel like taking a risk and need the assistance, he's apparently eager to do his job as Historian and help people with their objectives.
[akechi, that is. not... sousei...]
no subject
[ :) ]
no subject
[because, uh. it was kind of ridiculous.]
no subject
[he's not going to say more than that about it.]
The second should be easier, I think.
no subject
Well, that's good. Made your wish yet?
no subject
...I'm still thinking about it, actually.
[sure, people have claimed it's not as volatile when you've finished objectives, but.
hard to trust the thing that set you on fire.]
I don't suppose you know anything about that well that hasn't come up in public?
no subject
[ok]
... For what it's worth, I've made a wish and nothing seemed to backfire on me, so there's that.
no subject
[he's still going to consider his word choice more carefully, this time.]
no subject
no subject
We'll have to see, then, whenever I settle on one.
[he's not sure he wants to flatter a well and he's definitely not convinced someone didn't just make that up, but... mmm. maybe.]
later sunday night, let's just double thread in here
I suppose that was at least worth the time. With a little luck, we might find out something interesting this week.
no subject
Up to something?
no subject
[when has he ever been up to anything??]
More like other people being up to something. It may amount to nothing if they waste it, but there's a bit of potential.
no subject
no subject
If they do manage it, I should be able to listen in on at least two of them to find out if they made anything of that. That's the more useful bit, really...
[he's been needing confirmation on who he can get away with spying on. two down, at least.]

[but, you know, good luck to them and their neck.]

no subject
That's a little vague, but sure, duly noted.
no subject
[shrugs!!
but speaking of that.]
I meant to ask earlier, by the way. You gave me the names of the other roles, but what are you?
no subject
no subject
Is there anything else to that, or is identifying others the entirety of it?
[does that get you two abilities or what.]
no subject
no subject
[it's good to know, even if it doesn't change anything he'd been informed of earlier.]
